DAY 1: Arrival and transfer to Entebbe

Reach the airport at Entebbe International. Greetings from your driver-guide for Mutanda Tours. Take you to your hotel, and then a Safari briefing and rest.

DAY 2: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Morning

  • Leave early for over picturesque countryside in the southern area. Break for lunch in Mbarara, then continue to Bwindi. Then, finally, check into your lodge near the gorilla tracking base.

Drive time: Approximately 11-12 hours

DAY 3: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi (1st Trek)

Morning

  • We set off on our journey with a briefing and hike into the forest to meet your assigned gorilla family.

Afternoon

  • Spend up to 1 hour observing gorilla behavior. Return to lodge.

Evening

  • After being greeted by the lodge’s personnel, you will settle in, unwind, eat dinner, and then spend the night.

Drive time: 6-7 hours.

DAY 4: Gorilla Trekking.

Morning

  • Following an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the Park Headquarters so you may join other people for a briefing before you begin your gorilla walk in the bush. Depending on the location of the mountain gorilla family on that specific day, this trip may take anything from thirty minutes to seven hours.

Trek and observation

  • After locating the gorillas, you will have an hour to spend with them, observing their behavior and taking pictures, before you head back to the park headquarters to pick up your certificate attesting to your gorilla tracking experience in Uganda.

Evening

  • You’ll head back to the hotel for rest, dinner, and the night.

DAY 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Morning

  • Following breakfast, you will go to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda, stopping at several locations for photos as you drive through tea and banana plantations.

Afternoon

  • You will reach the lodge in time for lunch at Buffalo Safari Lodge or Elephant Hab. Following lunch, you will check into the lodge and take some time to unwind.

Evening

  • You will drive into the Savannah plains of Kasenyi for an evening game drive. Herds of buffalo, elephants, antelopes, and even large animals like lions and leopards can be seen on the Kasenyi plains, depending on your luck. Go back to your lodge and spend the night there.

Drive time: 4-5 hours.

DAY 6: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat on Kazinga Channel.

Morning

  • To try to discover what you might have missed on the last game drive, you will return to the Plains of Kasenyi this morning for another one. During this game drive, you will have the chance to view the morning risers.

Afternoon

  • After a hearty lunch at the resort, you will drive to the jetty along the Kazinga Channel for the afternoon boat ride. Hippos, elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and numerous aquatic bird species are among the creatures you may see on this voyage.

Evening

  • After arriving back at the lodge, you will have dinner and spend the night there after spending the evening at leisure.

DAY 7: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

Morning

  • Following an early breakfast, you will travel to the northern bank of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasenyi) to look for a variety of wildlife, such as buffalo, elephants, and some wild cats; various antelope species, such as waterbucks and Uganda kobs, as well as Savannah birds.

Afternoon

  • You will drive to Kibale National Park and have lunch at Fort Portal before reaching your lodge.

Evening

  • You will spend it at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive time: 3- 4 hours.

DAY 8: Chimpanzee Tracking.

Morning

  • Following breakfast, you will go to the headquarters of Kibale National Park to receive instruction on the Dos and Don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. A single guide will lead each of your six-person groups as they search for a chimpanzee family in the jungle. Chimpanzees typically divide their communities of 50–250 people into smaller gatherings during the day to lessen competition for food. After that, they would get together again at night to construct their nests.

Observation and Trekking

After locating the Chimpanzees, you will get the opportunity to spend an hour with them before having lunch at the lodge.

Afternoon

  • You leave for a wetland tour in the neighboring village of Bigodi after lunch. Numerous bird species and 13 known primates make Kibale National Park a popular destination.

Evening

  • To wrap off your day, you will go back to the hotel, unwind, eat dinner, and spend the night there.

DAY 9: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

Morning

  • Travel through picturesque rural areas, tiny towns, villages, and breathtaking escarpment views to reach Murchison Falls National Park.

Afternoon

  • You will make several stops along the way, eat lunch along the way, and then continue to Murchison Falls National Park. You will pause at the top of the falls to take in the breathtaking views before continuing into the park.

Evening

  • The lodge staff will greet you and check you in for a restful night before dinner and overnight.

Drive time: Approximately 6-7 hours drive

DAY 10: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

Morning

  • Following a morning coffee, you will be taken to the park’s northern region, also referred to as Paraa, for your morning wildlife drive. Paraa, which translates to “a place of hippos,” is a local dialect of the Luo people. Indeed, this game drive will give you the chance to see wild animals like antelopes, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, and, if you’re lucky, cats like lions and leopards.

Afternoon

  • After returning to the lodge for lunch, you will head to the pier for your two-hour boat ride to the base of the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where you will see multiple schools of hippos and the River Nile water squeeze itself in a narrow gorge before exploding out, providing you with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Evening and Lodging

  • You will then be transferred to the lodge for dinner, rest, and overnight.

DAY 11: To Entebbe International Airport via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking

Morning

  • After breakfast, you will return by car to Entebbe International Airport, where you can track rhinos by visiting the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Afternoon

  • You will eat lunch and then continue to see the picturesque villages and countryside before arriving in Kampala or Entebbe.

Evening

  • Before your nighttime flight back home, you will be taken to your accommodation in Entebbe/Kampala or to the Entebbe International Airport.

Drive time: 5-6 hours
